Interior & Exterior Painting
Rooms, trim, ceilings, siding and shutters repainted with the prep work that decides whether the finish lasts two years or ten.
The prep is the job
Most paint failures are prep failures — caulk that was skipped, a stain that was never sealed, a glossy trim that never got scuffed. We do that work before a brush touches the wall, then cut clean lines and roll consistently so the sheen is even under daylight.
Inside
Rooms, hallways, stairwells, ceilings, trim, doors and casings. Furniture moved and covered, floors protected, and everything back where it was at the end of the day. We work room at a time where you are living in the house, so you are never without somewhere to be.
Water stains get sealed with a stain-blocking primer rather than painted over. Emulsion on a tannin or water stain buys you about a month before it comes back through.
Outside
Siding, trim, porch ceilings, railings, doors and shutters. Exterior work in North Carolina is a scheduling problem as much as a painting one — humidity, afternoon storms and surface temperature all decide whether the coating cures properly, and rushing a wall because the crew is on site is how you get a film that peels in two summers.
Shutters come off the house, get repaired and painted flat, and go back on. Painting them in place leaves the edges and the back untouched, which is exactly where they fail.
Caulking and sealing
Caulk is the cheapest weatherproofing on a house and the first thing to go. Failed beads around windows, doors, trim junctions and where siding meets brick let water behind the surface, and by the time you see the damage it is a drywall repair as well as a paint job. Old caulk gets cut out rather than covered over, the joint is cleaned, and the new bead is tooled so it sheds water instead of holding it.
Interior caulking — the gap between trim and wall, the line above the baseboard — is what makes a repaint look like new work instead of a fresh coat on tired trim.
Getting a price
Photos of the room or the elevation, plus rough dimensions and how many coats of what colour is going over what. Painting is quoted per project. If you want the whole exterior looked at, that one is worth a short visit rather than a photo.
Frequently asked
Do you supply the paint?
Either way works. Most clients pick the colour and we handle purchase and delivery, or you buy it and we bring everything else. If you want us to buy it, the paint is billed at cost.
How much prep is included?
Filling nail holes, caulking gaps, sanding rough spots, spot priming and masking are part of the job, not add-ons. That prep is most of what separates a paint job that holds up from one that does not.
When is a bad time to paint outside here?
Mid-summer afternoons on a sunny wall and anything below about 50°F. Paint that dries too fast will not level and paint that dries too slow will not cure. We work the shaded side of the house through the hottest part of the day.
Can you fix my shutters instead of replacing them?
Usually. Vinyl shutters that have faded but are otherwise sound take paint well once they are cleaned and primed properly. Split or warped wood ones are worth replacing, and we will say which you have.
How to get a price
- 01
Fill in the form
A sentence about the job and the address we would be coming to. Rough measurements help but are not essential — the address is the part we cannot work without.
- 02
Get a number
Most jobs are priced from the form without anyone driving out. Bigger projects get a short visit first, and the estimate is free either way.
- 03
Pick a time
The price is agreed before any work starts. We work 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, and take urgent jobs when we can.
