Handyman in Raleigh
The widest range of housing on our list, from 1920s bungalows inside the beltline to new construction out past Brier Creek. Both ends need different work.
One city, four decades of building
Raleigh is the widest range of housing stock we work in, and the job list changes completely depending on which part of the city you are in.
Inside the beltline the houses are old enough to have plaster, original trim profiles you cannot buy off a shelf, and hardware that is worth saving rather than replacing. Repairs here are about matching what is there. Doors that have moved with ninety years of settlement, plaster keyed to lath, and rooms where nothing is quite square. The work is slower and the results are worth it.
The 1960s to 1980s ring — the neighborhoods that fill in between the beltline and the outer suburbs — is where the fixture work concentrates. Original panelling, popcorn ceilings, bathrooms and kitchens that have had one update since they were built, and light fixtures and ceiling fans that are on their second or third generation.
North Raleigh and Brier Creek are newer, and the calls from there are mostly installation rather than repair. TV walls, accent walls, shelving, blinds in houses that arrived with none, and the punch list that accumulates in the first few years after a build.
What we get called for here
Across all of it, the two most common Raleigh calls are drywall repair and mounting work — the two things every house needs regardless of when it was built. The feature-wall work skews to the newer neighborhoods, where the rooms are large enough to carry it and the walls are flat enough to start from.
Getting to you
About half an hour from Apex, which puts Raleigh in the same bracket as most of our list. There is no travel surcharge, but a single ten-minute job on its own will hit the minimum, so it is worth sending the whole list at once.

How to get a price
- 01
Fill in the form
A sentence about the job and the address we would be coming to. Rough measurements help but are not essential — the address is the part we cannot work without.
- 02
Get a number
Most jobs are priced from the form without anyone driving out. Bigger projects get a short visit first, and the estimate is free either way.
- 03
Pick a time
The price is agreed before any work starts. We work 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, and take urgent jobs when we can.
Working in Raleigh — questions
Do you cover all of Raleigh?
Yes. We are based in Apex and we work across the city, including the east side on the way out to Knightdale and Wendell. Send a photo and your zip code and we will tell you honestly how soon we can get to you.
Is there a travel charge for Raleigh?
No separate travel charge. The hundred-dollar minimum applies the same as everywhere else, which is why a single small job in Raleigh is worth bundling with the rest of your list rather than booking on its own.
My house is inside the beltline and everything is plaster. Can you work with that?
Yes. Plaster is a different repair from drywall and it needs matching rather than replacing, particularly on the older streets around Oakwood and Five Points. It takes longer and it is worth doing properly, because a mismatched patch in a ninety-year-old room never stops being visible.
