What kind of business this is

A small, hands-on handyman operation. The person who quotes your job is the person who turns up and does it, which is the main practical difference between us and a company that sends whoever is free that week.

We are a service-area business: there is no shop or office to visit, we come to you. We are registered in Apex and we work outward from there across Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham and Johnston counties.

Repairs pay the bills. Feature walls are the reason.

Most of the week is the ordinary work — drywall, doors, tile, mounting, decks, fixtures, the punch list somebody has been putting off. That work is worth doing well, and doing it well is mostly about not cutting the corners nobody would see.

But the work we would rather be doing, and the work people find us for, isaccent and feature walls — slat and panelled walls, decorative plaster, fireplace and TV surrounds, and LED lighting built into the wall rather than stuck onto it. It is the one part of this trade where you finish the day looking at something that was not there in the morning.

Insured, and clear about the limits

The business carries insurance. What it does not carry is a contractor's licence, and that matters for what we will and will not take on: anything that needs a permit — new electrical circuits, plumbing rough-in, structural work, roofing — goes to a licensed trade.

We tell you that at the start rather than halfway through. Knowing where somebody stops is more useful than a list of everything they claim to do.

Hours, and urgent work

8am – 8pm, seven days a week. That is not a slogan — evenings and weekends are when a lot of people can actually be home, so that is when a lot of this work happens.

Urgent jobs get taken when they can be fitted in. Say it is urgent in your message and you will get a straight answer about whether we can get there, not a maybe.
