Handyman in Clayton
One of the fastest-growing towns in the state. Mostly new housing, with an older downtown core that needs a different kind of work.
Growth on one side, history on the other
Clayton has grown as fast as anywhere in North Carolina over the past two decades, and the housing shows it. The large developments east and south of town — Flowers Plantation being the biggest — are almost entirely new, and the calls from them are new-construction calls.
That means installation rather than repair. Blinds, TV walls with the wiring buried, shelving and garage storage, feature walls in rooms handed over as blank drywall, and the snag list the builder closed out on paper.
Downtown Clayton and the older streets around it are a different job entirely: houses old enough that trim, doors and plaster need matching, and porches that have been repaired before.
Deck season
Johnston County lots tend to be larger and more open than the wooded lots further west, which means decks here dry out properly but take more direct sun. The failure mode is different — less rot, more splitting, cupping and fastener movement. Either way the fix starts with boards and screws.

How to get a price
- 01
Fill in the form
A sentence about the job and the address we would be coming to. Rough measurements help but are not essential — the address is the part we cannot work without.
- 02
Get a number
Most jobs are priced from the form without anyone driving out. Bigger projects get a short visit first, and the estimate is free either way.
- 03
Pick a time
The price is agreed before any work starts. We work 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, and take urgent jobs when we can.
Working in Clayton — questions
Do you come out to Flowers Plantation?
Yes. It is a large, mostly newer development and the work there is what you would expect from new construction: mounting, blinds, shelving, accent walls and post-move-in snags.
Is Johnston County outside your area?
Clayton is on our list. About forty minutes from Apex, so it is best booked as one visit covering several jobs. If you are significantly further into Johnston County than Clayton, get in touch anyway and we will give you a straight answer.
